BJ Currie: a country kid with dreams and guts

Ben Currie’s return to the British Supersport Championship has been delayed thanks to the coronavirus lockdown. Two rounds should have already been completed in the 2020 season, but no one knows when racing will commence.

24 year old Currie from Glengarry in Gippsland was born to race motorbikes, as you’ll discover in his three-part video series. But how he ended up racing in Britain came as a surprise, even to himself.

FOCUS: The Ben Currie Story explores his early days in Australia, his move to Britain, and how last year’s setbacks that included a major foot injury thrust him into 2020 with more determination than ever.

“Every morning I wake up there is no second guessing. This year I am more focused then I’ve ever been.”

The video series was produced by Dave Fromberg Videography. BJ was interviewed by Voyage Media‘s Greg Allen-Pretty for this video production.

MEDIA RELEASE 5/11/19: Gippsland’s Ben Currie to return to Supersport in 2020

Glengarry’s Ben Currie is set to return to the Dickies British Supersport Championship in 2020 after a frustrating season in the elite class.

The Gippslander battled a number of serious injuries and mechanical issues during his 2019 Bennetts British Superbike debut, but said he learnt a lot from the experience.

“It was a massive character building year for sure. It didn’t go exactly how I envisioned it but I guess that’s just how it goes sometimes,” said Currie.
