The final ever ‘Live at Spectrum’ TV show will be broadcast this Sunday night after four years of highlighting Gippsland’s live music scene.

Monthly shows have been broadcast live over digital platforms from the Spectrum studio in Traralgon and replayed later on Foxtel and Melbourne’s Channel 31.

Creator and Producer Brett Tippet said over the four years, the program has lifted the profile of many Gippsland performers.

“We speak to a lot of our artists who have been on the show over the years and yeah, that is the feedback that we receive.

“We get support from various members of the community who are really happy with what we are doing and have discovered new music.

“Looking back, we’ve had 74 live performances over the last four years… and what other chance would you have to see that many artists from Gippsland,” Brett said.

A team of professionals volunteer their time and Brett said after four seasons, it was felt they should get their lives back.

“We’ve got some of the best in Gippsland working on the show on a volunteer basis. So they give their time and their skills, and it just all developed I guess from two things: their love of live music in Gippsland and their love a quality production.

“Those two things together is what made Live at Spectrum successful for those four years.

“We think we’ve got a good body of work behind us.”

However Brett said it may not be the end of their work to promote Gippsland musicians.

“We may still make some content along the way but as for the monthly scheduled show, that will finish up on Sunday.”

The finale will come live from the West Gippsland Arts Centre, Warragul at 7.30pm this Sunday.

Gippsland music identity Brett Glover will again host the show for the final time, assisted by Mel Pollard. There will be live music performances by Darcy Fox, Day of Clint and Gippsland favourite Khristian Mizzi.

Being the final show, there may also be a few surprises.
