Some Heppell leadership inspires young people to lead in life and sport

Leadership runs in the Heppell family of Leongatha.

Jamin, Dyson and Aaron have been, and are, leaders in life and in sport.

While Dyson excels as captain of the Essendon Bombers, he and younger brother Aaron also assist older brother Jamin who inspires other young people to leadership.

Captains Camp is the flagship program of Game Changers Australia. Jamin describes it as the ultimate in sports leadership training, as it develops the all round athlete focusing on leadership and resilience on and off the field

Jamin has taken the program to sporting clubs, secondary schools and community groups across the nation, including many here in Gippsland.

Last Thursday night and Friday, members of the SRC group at Traralgon Secondary College undertook the leadership program.

The camp was initiated by school captain and Traralgon Under 18s captain Matt Williams, who benefitted from a Captains Camp two years ago.

Matt Williams with Traralgon U18s team-mate and fellow TSC student Wilson Gaudion. Both attended the Captains Camp at TSC.

I went along on Friday and spoke to Jamin and Matt. Check it out:
