Earlier this year, a 19 year old dancer from Traralgon accepted an offer he would never have imagined receiving.
Calvin Richardson is soon to join the corps de ballet of the prestigious Royal Ballet in London.

In 2012, Calvin was one of only two young Australian dancers selected to compete at the prestigious Prix de Lausanne after a successful audition. He was studying at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School at the time.
He is currently in London completing his third year at the Royal Ballet School before beginning his contract with the corps de ballet in August
Calvin received a number of offers but the Royal Ballet was one he couldn’t turn down.
“There’s about five top companies around the world and Royal Ballet would be one of them.
“When I was growing up I had no concept of pursuing a career in ballet, let along going to the Royal Ballet School and then going to the Company. It was amazing.
“I didn’t see it coming at all that it would turn out like this because growing up I always wanted to go into musical theatre.”
